37 Nsawam Prison inmates sit for Teacher Licensure Examination

Thirty-seven inmates at Nsawam Medium Security Prison, who have already completed their degree courses, recently took part in the Teacher Licensure Examination. This examination took place on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the prison under close supervision by two external invigilators along with support from Ghana Prisons Service officers.

The Ghana Prisons Service explained that this examination is part of their dedication to using education as a powerful tool for reforming, rehabilitating, and reintegrating inmates back into society. The primary goal of this initiative is to offer inmates the chance to obtain qualifications and skills that can significantly improve their chances of leading responsible and productive lives once they are released.

The Service highlighted the participation of these 37 inmates in the licensure examination as a crucial milestone in their rehabilitation process as they strive to change their lives for the better and positively contribute to society post-reintegration.
