37 Nsawam Prison inmates sit for Teacher Licensure Examination

Thirty-seven inmates at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison recently took the Teacher Licensure Examination as part of a program to provide them with valuable skills and qualifications for life after their release from incarceration. These inmates had already completed their degree programmes before sitting for the examination at the prison facility on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The testing was carried out under strict supervision by two external invigilators, with the assistance from personnel from the Ghana Prisons Service. This initiative is part of the prison service's broader strategy to use education as a tool for the reformation, rehabilitation, and reintegration of inmates back into society.
