3 days on track, 362 days behind the scenes: Meet the team running the Singapore F1 race

In the year-round operation of the Singapore Formula 1 race, the team covers multiple aspects beyond the three-day spectacle, working tirelessly for 362 days simply to prepare for the next event. The technical crew, led by Mr. Shiv Raj Panday, has just four and a half hours to tear down parts of the track and reopen the roads to the public, as the Padang concert stages are dark by 1am on Monday.

The team conducts feasibility studies throughout the year, planning to set up and build the circuit within two to three months. Ticketing and crowd management, marketing, and monitoring global developments are also part of the team's responsibilities. The team of 70 full-time staff works on numerous tasks, from ticketing and planning crowd movements to monitoring global events that could impact the race.

The process begins even before the previous race ends, with early bird ticket sales starting the year before the event. The team reviews the event post-race to assess what went well and what didn't, planning improvements for the next race. This year, they introduced a two-day sprint bundle ticketing package for the sprint race, which is a short race separate from the main event.

The team also monitors the feasibility of utilizing limited space within the circuit park and ensures all seats are present, properly labeled, and in good condition.
