Macklemore to Donate $1 Million to Palestinian Support Groups, Invites Robert Kraft to Match
The rapper revealed the donation after the billionaire Patriots owner allegedly led a pressure campaign to force him off Ed Sheeran's tour
Following Macklemore's challenge to match his $1 million donation to Palestinian support groups, Robert Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium, has responded. In a statement, Kraft acknowledged Ed Sheeran's offer of $2 million, and stated his commitment to bridging divides between all people. He also mentioned Sheeran's plan to involve other venue owners.
Kraft highlighted his past support for Palestinian initiatives and businesses. The billionaire did not disclose if and when he would be giving out the money, or which charities would receive it. Macklemore pledged to donate the $1 million he earned from Sheeran's tour to six Palestinian-focused organizations. The removal of Macklemore from Ed Sheeran's tour tour was due to Macklemore's pro-Palestinian statements during the tour.
