You will become a village leader: Kioni warns 2027 aspirants against local parties

Jubilee Party Deputy Leader Jeremiah Kioni cautioned opposition leaders against adopting a bullying attitude and labeling fellow opposition members as "moles." He stated that such behavior could hinder their efforts to defeat President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election. Kioni urged opposition leaders to approach their political partners with an "open hands" attitude, emphasizing the importance of not alienating potential supporters.

He criticized the practice of labeling opposition politicians as "moles" or using derogatory terms against political allies. Kioni argued that every politician and group within the opposition could contribute to an election victory and warned against dismissing sections of the political movement as irrelevant. He praised former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i for maintaining calmness under political provocation and attempting to bring competing leaders together.

Kioni advised opposition leaders to handle disagreements privately rather than turning them into public confrontations. His remarks came amid efforts by opposition parties to maintain unity while positioning their leaders ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
