Who are you to judge my apology, Umno man tells DAP leaders

Sepang Umno chief Noorazli Said refuted claims by DAP leaders that his apology for a lewd joke involving Catholic clergy was insincere. The joke, which Noorazli made at the Umno general assembly, referenced a priest and a nun with a punchline mistakenly attributed to Psalm 129 in the Bible. Noorazli maintained that his apology was genuine and that he had no intention of insulting Christians or nuns.

He acknowledged his mistake in the inaccurate reference to Psalm 129 and accepted that he deserved reprimand. In a Facebook post, Noorazli quoted several Bible verses about forgiveness and mercy, urging his critics to be fair to him. He criticized those who rushed to judge his sincerity as part of a political evaluation, stating that if every apology had to pass such scrutiny, society would lack peace.

Noorazli expressed his commitment to learning from the incident and moving forward with respect for all religions, citing his faith's teachings of love, tolerance, and forgiveness.
