White House Tells Banks to Unsanction Belarus, Trump’s Envoy Says
Trump’s Belarus envoy John Coale reportedly told Minsk during an ongoing visit that the White House is working to unlock frozen funds held by US banks, with Belarus’s Lukashenko naming the release of about $44 million in Citibank as preconditions for further talks. Despite Coale’s role in securing the release of political prisoners, Lukashenko argued no such people exist in his country.
