US-Iran tensions mount as Strait of Hormuz crisis disrupts tanker traffic, oil prices; Houthi attacks injure Saudi civilians

On Tuesday, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen reported that Houthi attacks had injured thirteen civilians and caused damage to seven residences and two vehicles in three Saudi cities. The attacks took place in Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif on Monday, according to coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki. The Houthis launched ballistic missiles and drones at civilian areas in these cities.

The attacks resulted in minor to moderate injuries for the thirteen civilians and inflicted damage on the seven homes and two vehicles. Al-Maliki stated that the repeated and deliberate attacks by the Houthis showcased their escalating approach and their continued targeting of civilians and civilian objects. He added that the coalition would respond responsibly and firmly, in accordance with the principles of self-defense and international humanitarian law, to protect Saudi sovereignty, civilians, and civilian infrastructure.

Al-Maliki emphasized that the coalition would take all necessary operational measures to deter further attacks and counter the Houthis' hostile actions.
