Three injured as container truck crashes on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Three individuals were injured when a 40-foot container truck crashed on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Mowe, Ogun State, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). The accident occurred on Kara Bridge, close to the ENYO Filling Station, near the expansion joint. The truck had reportedly experienced brake failure before colliding with demarcation blocks and other vehicles at the bridge exit.

Three people were taken to an emergency center for medical attention following the crash. LASTMA initially cordoned off the entire carriageway inward OPIC and implemented counterflow traffic control measures to manage traffic flow. The agency reported that recovery and evacuation efforts were ongoing. LASTMA, along with police officers from Isheri and the Federal Road Safety Corps, was present at the scene to manage the situation.

In a follow-up update, LASTMA confirmed that recovery operations had been completed, and the roadway was fully cleared. Traffic was flowing, albeit with a backlog of vehicles, and LASTMA personnel remained at the scene to ensure continuous movement.
