This 8-year-old started coding to do math homework; now he holds a world record

A young boy from Melbourne, Australia has been named the youngest professional computer programmer by Guinness World Records. Noah Williams achieved this feat at the age of eight years and 307 days.

According to Guinness, to be considered a programmer, one must develop and write computer programmes. A programme refers to a set of instructions written in a language that a computer can understand and execute.

Noah's passion for coding began at the age of six, not because he was simply curious about computers, but to help with his math homework and to explore patterns. He started learning C++, a programming language commonly used in software development, gaming, engineering, finance, and scientific applications.

At seven, Noah joined Mensa, an international high IQ society, after scoring in the 99.9th percentile on an IQ test. His programming skills caught the attention of Guinness World Records, leading to the recognition of his achievement as the youngest person to programme computers.

Noah's interests, however, extend beyond programming. He has also delved into robotics and drones, bringing his fascination with computers into the physical world.
