Taylor, Bengals know there is still plenty of room for improvement despite 1-0 start

The coach emphasized that the team's performance in the first game should not be viewed as a definitive indicator of success.

Defensively, the Bengals made significant additions during the offseason and showcased a strong performance with four turnovers, a 38.9% pressure rate, and four sacks of Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield. Defensive coordinator Al Golden highlighted the effectiveness of the four-man rush and the route adjustments made during the game. However, Golden also pointed out that there is a need to improve on third downs, as the Buccaneers were successful in that area.

The offensive line played a crucial role in the game, with tackle Amarius Mims and guard Dalton Risner remaining largely unscathed despite facing Tampa Bay's edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. Quarterback Joe Burrow's four interceptions marked a league-high since the start of last season. Tight end Mike Gesicki contributed with five receptions and a touchdown in the first quarter, putting the Bengals ahead 14-3. The team had no significant injuries heading into their next game against Houston.
