Steven Nhyira Odarteifio declares bid for NDC National Youth Organiser position

Steven Nhyira Odarteifio has announced his intention to run for the position of National Youth Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In his speech, he emphasized the need for a new approach to youth leadership, urging the party to focus on creating economic opportunities for young Ghanaians. Odarteifio highlighted the importance of government programmes like the National Apprenticeship Programme and the One Million Coders Programme, stressing their potential impact when young people are aware of and can access them.

With his background in youth development, agriculture, and enterprise, Odarteifio claims to have seen firsthand the challenges faced by young people and developed practical solutions. He pledged to impact one million more young people before the end of the Mahama administration if elected, aiming to connect them to capital, skills, businesses, agriculture, technology, and markets.

Odarteifio also called for the NDC to build a youth wing that could mobilize young people consistently, not just during elections. Drawing historical parallels, he mentioned leaders like Yaa Asantewaa, Kwame Nkrumah, and Jerry John Rawlings as examples of individuals who achieved prominence based on ideas, service, and ability rather than wealth or political connections.
