Rev Opuni Frimpong questions CSSPS credibility over alleged NDC placement protocol

Former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev Dr. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong, has expressed doubts about the credibility of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) following allegations of a special placement arrangement for children of National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives. This comes after a video surfaced purportedly showing Eastern Regional National Coordinator for Free Senior High School, Charles Nyame, announcing the availability of protocols for NDC executive children to secure placements in senior high schools.

The video raised concerns about fairness and transparency in the CSSPS, a system implemented to ensure a transparent and equitable placement process for qualified students. Rev Dr. Opuni Frimpong acknowledged that the CSSPS was designed to eliminate arbitrary decisions and ensure equal opportunities based on established criteria.

However, he warned that any perception that political connections could influence school placement could seriously undermine the system's credibility and the Free SHS program.
