The Qatar Diamond Exchange (QDE) has formed a strategic partnership with Borsa Diamanti d’Italia, expanding its network into Europe. The agreement was signed during the CIBJO Centenary Congress in Vicenza, Italy by QDE director Ghanim Nasser al-Saadi and Borsa Diamanti d’Italia president Luigi Cosma.
This partnership aims to build ties between the membership of both exchanges, promoting commercial relationships, mutual introductions, and broader cooperation. Both bourses will also invite members and management from each to industry events, tenders, auctions, and viewings, supported by reciprocal visits.
QDE and Borsa Diamanti d’Italia are committed to promoting consumer confidence in natural diamonds and precious stones through industry initiatives, upholding recognized industry standards, and supporting the World Diamond Council’s System of Warranties and those led by the Responsible Jewellery Council.
Al-Saadi stated that this agreement strengthens QDE's international network and deepens engagement with established diamond markets. Italy, with its strong position in the global diamond and jewellery industry, offers new opportunities for member businesses to build commercial relationships and exchange expertise. Cosma added that Qatar brings a new, well-regulated market into the network, with a commitment to industry standards. The partnership aims to introduce members to Doha and welcome QDE's members to Milan.
QDE, launched in July 2026 at Ras Bufontas Free Zone, provides an integrated, regulated platform for diamond trading and related services. It connects Doha with international markets, supporting Qatar's diamond and precious stones sector and the country's economic diversification goals under Qatar National Vision 2030.
