Muhyiddin trial: Lawyer accuses MACC officer of ‘intimidation’ over police report

Former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's legal team has accused a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer of attempting to intimidate and damage his reputation, based on the contents of a police report. During the ongoing trial, Muhyiddin's lawyer, Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad, questioned MACC officer Mazery Mohd Zaini, alleging that the report contained false information and referred to an alleged classified document that his lawyers desired to be presented as evidence.

Amer claimed that the officer, who was under oath, had received information from another investigating officer, hinting at the report's intent to intimidate. He described the report as an "underhanded tactic" and vowed to take legal action against the officer, including charges of contempt of court. The alleged classified document in question was the statement provided by MACC during investigations from Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad.

The MACC officer later apologized for the report, stating that it was intended to ensure the protection of internal information and that it had been provided by the prosecution to Adam Radlan's lawyers in their own case. Despite Mazery's apology, the lawyer insisted that his reputation remains tarnished, as the report has already been reported by the media.
