Malaysia Day H-series plate bidding opens tomorrow, numbers from 1 to 9,999 up for grabs

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 — The bidding for special H-series vehicle registration numbers, coinciding with Malaysia Day, is set to commence on Wednesday and conclude on September 20. These numbers will range from 1 to 9,999. According to Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, bids can be submitted via the JPJeBid app, with results to be disclosed on September 21.

The H series holds significance as it marks the final single-letter series JPJ will offer, and it also symbolizes harmony during Malaysia Day festivities. Ramli emphasized during a press conference that this series is unique and urged the public to seize this opportunity to bid for a number, as JPJ will not be issuing any additional single-letter series in the future.

The H series is distinct from taxi registrations, which require the letter H to be followed by a state registration letter. For instance, taxis in Perak are registered with the combination ‘HA’, where ‘A’ represents the state registration letter.
