LP Reps candidate marks 46th birthday, donates ambulance to Abia LG

Chief Chimaobi Anyaso, the Labour Party candidate for the Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, celebrated his 46th birthday by donating a fully equipped ambulance to the Bende Local Government Area of Abia State. This generous act, part of his annual birthday tradition of giving back to the community, aims to bolster healthcare delivery in the region.

Anyaso highlighted that this is the first-ever ambulance in Bende and emphasized the dire need for such a vehicle in the area, as most health centres in Bende, including recently retrofitted centres in Igbere, lack ambulances. By donating this ambulance, he hopes to encourage Governor Alex Otti, who has been investing heavily in the healthcare sector.

Reflecting on his 20-year commitment to the constituency, Anyaso mentioned his role in establishing a free nursery and primary school in his community, which he has managed for 20 years. He also announced his intent to bring about changes if elected, emphasizing accountability and transparency in government-funded projects. He criticized the current representatives for their poor track record, citing failed projects due to substandard contractors.

The donation of the ambulance was lauded by the Commissioner for Health, Professor Enoch Ogbonnaya-Uche, who described it as a significant milestone for the state's health sector. The Coordinator of Emergency Medical Services, Dr Chukwuemeka Nwakanma, added that this act complements the state government's efforts to ensure a functional emergency service at the grassroots level.

Bende LGA's Mayor, Deacon Uwabunkeonye Bassey, also welcomed the donation, stating that it will complement the governor's recent efforts to reconstruct 16 health centres in Bende. The donation is expected to further strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the area.
