I’ve lived in my current home for 36 years — Dangote

Aliko Dangote, Africa's wealthiest individual, has disclosed that he has resided in his present dwelling for 36 years and has no intention of relocating, as he finds comfort in his current abode. In an interview with ARISE News, Dangote elaborated on his lifestyle, business ventures, and perspectives on wealth and investment.

The self-made billionaire emphasized his contentment with his home, stating that it is challenging to remove him from his house upon returning in the evening. Dangote further criticized affluent Africans who purchase private jets but fail to invest in productive enterprises such as factories, asserting that these individuals do not contribute to the economy's growth.

Discussing the recent Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the Dangote Refinery, Dangote actively engaged Nigerian investors, garnering a positive response. His primary objective is to leverage his wealth and business interests to foster Africa's industrialization, envisioning his most significant legacy as bolstering the continent's productive capacity.

Dangote recognized that foreign investors are increasingly attracted to Africa but require substantial investment opportunities to entice them. He acknowledged that foreign entities are beginning to invest in Africa due to the emergence of attractive large-scale projects. Dangote emphasized the necessity of redirecting private capital from personal luxury symbols to factories and other productive assets that can generate employment, augment manufacturing capabilities, and stimulate broad-based economic expansion.
