‘I am safe now’: Keralite vlogger, who claimed arrest by Mujahideen, says she escaped arrest threat in Afghanistan

A Keralite travel vlogger, known as 'Backpacker Arunima', claimed she was arrested by Mujahideen in Afghanistan but later said she is safe after the authorities threatened to arrest her in Bamyan due to the country's law prohibiting women from traveling alone. According to Arunima, she was questioned about her passport, visa, and permit upon arriving in Bamyan around 7 PM, and the authorities insisted she pay a fine, obtain a permit, and travel with an official guide.

She eventually managed to leave the country, planning to travel around 500 kilometres towards the Uzbekistan border.
