Her sister struggled with feeding breast milk on the go – so this 23-year-old invented a better way

Nicolette Wong's innovative solution, Momigo, addresses the challenges faced by parents on-the-go with breastfeeding. The Singaporean university student, who designed Momigo as her thesis project, aimed to create an all-in-one system that stored, warmed, and fed breast milk seamlessly. After witnessing her sister struggle with the logistical burden of breastfeeding, Wong decided to focus her design project on the entire experience rather than individual steps.

Momigo consists of a reusable silicone breast milk storage and feeding system that allows mothers to store, warm, and feed their baby from the same container – a silicone bag with a circular opening and a tapered base. The bag seals into a thin profile for storage in the fridge or freezer, while an insulated flask filled with hot water is used to warm the milk before feeding.

The system reduces the need for multiple products, minimizes spillage risks, and prevents exposure to microplastics from disposable solutions. Wong's design process involved extensive research, including consultations with lactation consultants and feedback from over 15 parents. Despite the arduous nature of the 10-month project, Wong remains proud of her accomplishment, hoping to pursue a career in research and development.
