Health Ministry completes school fitness checks for new students

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Health Ministry has concluded mandatory fitness assessments for more than 332,000 first-year students for the 1448 academic year, in conjunction with necessary vaccinations. This joint effort by the Health and Education Ministries saw the evaluation of approximately 332,931 fresh students, accompanied by basic inoculation and the implementation of health awareness and monitoring for detected health issues.

The assessments involved notifying parents about any identified health conditions and directing them to continue appropriate follow-up and care, thereby emphasizing early detection and fostering student well-being. The Health Ministry emphasized that these screenings are part of continuous efforts to bolster preventive measures, elevate the caliber of health services delivered to students, and ensure a healthy and safe commencement to the school year.

The ministry reaffirmed its ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Public Health Authority (Weqaya), and health clusters to furnish essential preventive services for students and enhance health consciousness among students and their families. These initiatives aim to contribute to a healthy and secure educational environment by persistently supporting student health, preventing health complications, and facilitating early identification of health concerns.
