‘He might not do better than my three daughters’ – Dangote speaks on having biological son

Africa's wealthiest individual, Aliko Dangote, has expressed his perspective on the matter of having a son at this stage in his life. In an interview with Arise Television, the Dangote Group president conveyed his thoughts on the subject matter. Dangote suggested that the introduction of a son could potentially tarnish the reputation of his family lineage.

Furthermore, he opined that the son might not surpass the achievements of his three biological daughters and one adopted son. Mariya, the eldest biological daughter, plays a prominent leadership role within the Dangote Group. Halima, the second biological daughter, serves as a senior executive and board member. Fatima, the third biological daughter, holds executive positions at various Dangote Group subsidiaries.

The industrialist has been married twice, and both marriages culminated in divorce. Dangote's first wife, Zainab, bore him two daughters, Mariya and Halima. His second wife, Mariya Muhammad Rufai, gave birth to their only child, Fatima. During the conversation, Dangote candidly stated, "That is not my priority, let me say it bluntly because today as we speak, God controls everything.

But for me, sometimes you can pray for God to give you a son but that son might be the one that would take down the name of the family. So sometimes when God doesn't give you something, don't push. I don't think a son would have done better than these three ladies that I have."
