Gov’t to ensure Ghanaian businesses benefit from Sentuo Airport Garden City project – Ofosu-Adjare

Government official Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare has pledged that the Ghanaian government will collaborate with the Sentuo Group to ensure that local businesses reap the benefits of the Sentuo Airport Garden City project. Addressing the sod-cutting and unveiling ceremony in Accra on Tuesday, September 15, she highlighted the vast range of opportunities the large-scale development presents for various sectors of the economy, including construction, engineering, hospitality, retail, and facility management.

Ofosu-Adjare emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that local businesses are integrated into the project's supply chain, from procuring building materials to final finishing and service provision. Furthermore, the government aims to extend the economic benefits of the project beyond its physical development, bolstering Ghana's local industrial base. She explained that the value generated by the project does not cease at the project site but trickles down to the country's local industries.

In addition to the economic incentives, Ofosu-Adjare revealed that the project will create employment opportunities for Ghanaian workers and enhance Accra's ability to host major international gatherings and events. She noted the investment as a testament to Sentuo Group's faith in Ghana, following their groundbreaking of the second phase of the company's oil refinery.

Ofosu-Adjare also praised President John Dramani Mahama for fostering a conducive environment for businesses and personally backing crucial investments in the nation.
