Ghana remains a prime investment destination in Africa – Ahmed Ibrahim

Ghana's Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Ahmed Ibrahim, has expressed confidence in the country's appeal to foreign investors, particularly in the housing and infrastructure sectors. Expressing this sentiment at a sod-cutting ceremony for the Sentuo Airport Garden City Project, Mr Ibrahim emphasized the government's dedication to establishing a business-friendly environment.

He emphasized that Ghana's strategic location in Africa renders it the "gateway to Africa," and he pledged the nation's unwavering commitment to partnering with the private sector to spur development. Describing Ghana as the "home of investors and the most attractive place," the Minister actively encouraged investors to leverage the opportunities available in the country.

He highlighted that public-private partnerships would play a pivotal role in addressing Ghana's infrastructure and housing challenges. Ibrahim also expressed optimism that the collaboration between the government and private developers would significantly contribute to reducing Ghana's housing deficit, currently estimated at around 1.8 million units.

He expressed hope that the deficit could be narrowed to below one million units in the upcoming years. The Minister concluded by urging investors to explore opportunities in Ghana and collaborate with the government in delivering projects that meet the country's burgeoning housing and infrastructure demands.
