Elektromobilität: 100.000 Bestellungen für iX3 von BMW allein in Europa

A year after the launch of the new BMW iX3, the Munich-based company announced that 100,000 customers in Europe alone have ordered the vehicle, marking the best start for any model in its first year of availability. This impressive figure extends beyond Europe, as China has also shown significant interest in the electric vehicle, though BMW has not provided specific numbers.

According to BMW's Sales Director, Jochen Goller, "100,000 orders within a year are a great start for the new class, whose rollout is gaining momentum," and this serves as further motivation for BMW's future in electromobility. By the end of 2027, BMW aims to bring 40 new and upgraded models with technologies from the New Class to the market.

The i3 follows the iX3 as the second model, and applications of these technologies are expected to extend to gasoline-powered vehicles as well. In Europe, the iX3 and i3 account for approximately one-third of all electric vehicle orders since their introduction, with nearly half of the orders within the X3 family being electric.

This is a significant increase compared to the industry average. Globally, BMW delivered nearly 2.17 million vehicles under its core brand last year, with 336,000 of them being pure electric vehicles. This achievement stands in stark contrast to Volkswagen's recent announcement of 30,000 orders for the new ID. Polo, which has only been available for ordering since April.
