Disha Salian Death Case: NCP- SP MLA Rohit Pawar Backs Aaditya Thackeray, Alleges Political Motive Behind CBI Activity

NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar stated on Tuesday that the heightened Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) involvement in the Disha Salian death case stems from political maneuvering ahead of the 2029 elections. Pawar suggested that the increased scrutiny might be an indication that the polls could occur earlier than planned. Defending Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, Pawar expressed confidence that Thackeray would also be exonerated, similar to his acquittal in the earlier Sushant Singh Rajput case where Thackeray's name was mentioned.

During the Sushant Singh Rajput investigation, Thackeray's name had been brought up, but he was ultimately cleared. Pawar believed Thackeray would face the same fate in this case. He noted that whenever the CBI becomes active, politics tends to intrude, and the 2029 elections could be a catalyst for this. The Central Bureau of Investigation registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with Disha Salian's death following a court order for a comprehensive investigation.

Salian was discovered dead on June 8, 2020, a day before actor Sushant Singh Rajput's demise in Bandra, Mumbai. Initially, her death was classified as an accidental death. Pawar criticized the ruling coalition for using politically sensitive topics like the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to divert public attention from governance failures and pressing issues like women's safety and law and order in Maharashtra.

He urged central leaders to concentrate on these critical matters rather than raising controversial subjects.
