Bharath confirms Ganesh idol immersion to proceed in K-C Canal as usual

Prakasam District Superintendent of Police (SP) V. Harshavardhan Raju emphasized the importance of robust security arrangements at Ganesh Nimajjanam (immersion) sites during the Vinayaka Chaturthi festivities. On Tuesday, he inspected the sites located along the beaches of Kothapatnam and Pakala. Raju stressed the need for precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incidents during the immersion process.

In a statement to the media, Raju said that surveillance was maintained using drones and CCTV cameras at the immersion sites. Special police teams and security personnel were deployed for traffic control and devotee safety, ensuring that the idol immersion process proceeded peacefully and safely. The SP asserted that the idol immersions would be conducted at the designated times and precautionary measures would be implemented to prevent devotees from venturing too deep into the sea or small children from entering it.

To aid public safety, instructions were broadcasted through the public address system. The authorities revealed that they had arranged for expert swimmers, warning boards, interceptor boats, lights, life jackets, and country boats at the immersion sites. To easily identify expert swimmers, they were provided with special T-shirts. Marine police will be on duty to assist with these safety measures.
