30-Year-Old Electricity Worker Dies Of Electric Shock While Repairing 11 KV Line In MP's Chhatarpur; Family Alleges Negligence

Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh: A 30-year-old electricity department worker, Santosh Anuragi, tragically lost his life on Monday night after sustaining an electric shock while repairing an 11 KV power line. The incident occurred during the late hours, between 8 pm and 9 pm, when Santosh climbed an electric pole to work on the line. He made contact with a live 33 KV line located above the pole, resulting in a fatal electric shock.

Despite being transported for medical treatment, Santosh could not be revived. His body was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination at the district hospital on Tuesday.

According to the family's account, both the 11 KV and 33 KV power lines were connected to the same pole where Santosh was working. While the power supply to the 11 KV line had been switched off as part of the repair work, the 33 KV line remained live. Santosh's elder brother has alleged that Santosh was sent to work on the pole as directed by Ramlal Anuragi. The family contends that the electricity supply was not completely shut down, leading to Santosh's fatal accident.

The family is expressing anger over the alleged negligence on behalf of the electricity department. They claim that no senior official or employee from the department visited their home to offer condolences following the incident. The family is seeking strict legal action against those responsible for Santosh's death and proper compensation.

The electricity worker's passing has left the family devastated, particularly as Santosh had only been married for three months. His family members are mourning his loss and demanding accountability for the alleged negligence during the power line repair work.
