Women returned for trial over murder of man at party

A woman, Tatjana Talockina, a 63-year-old Latvian national, has been brought back to court for a trial in connection with the murder of Nazim Amir Sultanov. The incident occurred following a stabbing at a house party in Dublin. Talockina, who resided at Foster Terrace, Ballybough, was initially held in custody on February 28 after being charged with the murder committed at her own address on January 31, with the victim pronounced dead at the scene.

She also faced charges for assaulting another female at the same location. The case was re-listed at Dublin District Court, where the Director of Public Prosecution authorized a trial on indictment. As the District Court cannot handle bail applications in murder cases, Talockina remains in prison remand. Judge Michele Finan reminded her of the requirement to inform the prosecution if she planned to use an alibi and ordered the provision of her interview video copies.

She also granted a return for trial order, sending her to the Central Criminal Court for future hearings. No comments were made by Talockina during the initial charges. Currently, she has no legal representation due to the withdrawal of solicitors following legal aid payment reforms. The ongoing industrial action, initiated in early July, has caused significant disruption to criminal courts across all levels. An application for legal aid will be made when the matter proceeds to the trial court.
