Trump says the only AI guardrails the U.S. needs is him as president

In the message, Trump emphasized that the United States already possesses the necessary firepower and regulatory authority to prevent potential harms from AI development, dismissing Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's recent appeal for a slower pace of AI advancement.

Trump's stance comes in response to Anthropic's refusal to eliminate safety restrictions for the Department of Defense, which led to the government phasing out the use of Anthropic products. Amid a united front among AI leaders, Trump's post also comes after a weekend of agreement among tech magnates such as Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Dennis Hassabis, co-founder of Google DeepMind, and Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceXAI.
