Trump dismisses report China supplied intel to Iran

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump dismissed reports that Chinese entities had supplied Iran with satellite images of a military base prior to the Iranian strike that killed three American soldiers. The incident occurred in July when Iranian missiles targeted the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, which houses US forces. Trump, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One after returning from a visit to Ireland, stated, "That's what we do.

Trump declined to comment on whether he would address the matter with Chinese President Xi Jinping, whose visit to the White House is expected on September 24.

China has not officially confirmed the meeting. Trump reiterated his belief in a positive relationship with Xi, stating, "I think he's behaved reasonably well, and we behave reasonably well." The US administration has previously downplayed tensions with China, despite frustration over Beijing's support for Iran. The US sanctioned three Chinese satellite companies in May for their collaboration with Iranian military entities. China remains Iran's leading economic and diplomatic partner and the primary buyer of its oil.
