Syrian President Ahmad Al Shara to deliver keynote speech at Arab Media Summit

Syrian President Ahmad Al Shara is set to deliver a keynote speech at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai, organisers have announced. The three-day summit kicks off on Tuesday at Dubai World Trade Centre, marking the first time Al Shara has addressed an audience in Dubai since assuming office. His visit follows earlier trips to Abu Dhabi in April and July this year, as Syria strives to reestablish its regional and international connections post the collapse of the Assad regime.

As the patron of the summit, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, aims to host the most significant and influential media gathering in the region. This year’s summit, which runs from September 15 to 17, is anticipated to attract approximately 10,000 media professionals and industry figures, alongside over 400 speakers from more than 23 countries, participating in 175 sessions.

Syrian Minister of Information, Khaled Zaarour, is among the distinguished Arab officials joining the proceedings. During the summit, discussions will revolve around transformative shifts impacting the media landscape, encompassing the increasing sway of artificial intelligence and digital platforms, as well as the pivotal role of media during global geopolitical and economic transformations in the region.
