Syrian President Ahmad Al Shara to deliver keynote speech at Arab Media Summit

Syrian President Ahmad Al Shara is set to deliver the opening keynote at the Arab Media Summit taking place in Dubai this week. The three-day summit kicks off at Dubai World Trade Centre on Tuesday, with Mr. Al Shara marking his first visit to the city since assuming office. His presence follows visits to Abu Dhabi in April and July, as Syria endeavors to reestablish its regional and global ties post-Assad regime collapse.

Organised annually under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's aegis, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, the Arab Media Summit is the region's premier media event. This year's iteration runs from September 15 to 17 and anticipates the attendance of approximately 10,000 media professionals and industry executives. Over 400 speakers from 23 nations will present in more than 175 sessions at the summit.

Syria's Minister of Information, Khaled Zaarour, joins other prominent Arab officials for the gathering. Discussions at the summit will centre on transformative shifts in the media landscape, such as the ascendancy of artificial intelligence and digital platforms, alongside the media's role amidst geopolitical and economic upheavals across the Middle East.
