Ghanaian gospel musician Bernice Offei has been mourned by Professor Kwesi Yankah, who paid tribute to the artist as one of the nation's finest singers. In a Facebook post, Yankah described Offei as a neighbour for over a decade at the Legon Interdenominational Church and a fellow worshipper at the institution. He fondly recalled their close-knit community in Legon, where several renowned artists and intellectuals resided.

Yankah, who worked with Offei's husband, Kwame Offei, as an administrator, highlighted Offei's significant presence in their neighbourhood, often referred to as an "artist's conclave." He shared a memorable moment when Offei performed at his 60th birthday celebration, marking the occasion with her silky voice. Another notable encounter was her performance at Central University's thanksgiving service in 2016, where her rendition of "Hold On" uplifted the atmosphere and left a lasting impression on the attendees, including students who had never experienced her music before.

Yankah emphasized Offei's musical legacy, noting that her songs, such as "Mogya," "Life is Short," and "N'adom," transcended the typical gospel genre and touched hearts through faith, reflection, and grace.
