Share economic benefits equitably, reduce toxic politics of race and religion, says Guan Eng

Former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng suggests that reducing taxation and regulatory costs can help the national unity government counter the toxic politics of race and religion. He believes that generating higher prosperity and sustaining growth can neutralize extremism driven by these factors, while cutting red tape that impedes economic activities.

Lim proposes sharing economic benefits equitably among the 17 million workforce, through reducing living costs, removing rentier economic practices and crony capitalism. He urges the unity government to uphold the Federal Constitution and the rule of law, defend democracy, promote unity in diversity, boost the economy further, champion excellence and merit-based education, safeguard the environment and cultural heritage, provide basic healthcare for all, create digital education opportunities, invest in physical infrastructure, and impose guardrails against scams and cyber-bullying.
