Série D title crowns Uberlândia two-time national champions

Uberlândia has secured back-to-back national titles, earning their second Série D championship after regaining prominence on the Brazilian football scene after a 42-year absence. The Minas Gerais club, founded in 1922, lifted the 2026 Brasileirão Série D trophy after defeating ASA 2-0. Uberlândia achieved this remarkable feat in front of a roaring crowd of 36,500 fans at Parque do Sabiá.

In the final, Calazans opened the scoring but Uberlândia's goals by João (an own goal) and Jhonatan Lima secured the win. The club's president, Fábio Mineiro, expressed his gratitude to fans, the city, and the supporters for making the national title celebration possible after 40 years. Uberlândia's forward Kayke Moreno, a veteran player, celebrated the victory, stating that the team's success has made the dream of bringing back a giant come true and reconnected the city with football.
