Samsung may pull an Apple and make the Galaxy S26 series pricier

Samsung may be about to follow Apple's lead and raise the price of the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea, according to a report from Hans Economy. The outlet claims that a Korean carrier has informed retailers that wholesale prices for every Galaxy S26 model will increase by 149,600 won, or approximately $110, on October 1. This move would be unusual, as the phones were launched in March, putting the price hike nearly seven months into their life cycle.

The increase would come amid rising RAM and component costs, and Samsung has reportedly been reviewing its pricing. While no decision has been made, the potential price hike mirrors Apple's recent strategy of raising prices on older iPhone models when they launch new ones. However, unlike Apple, Samsung has not indicated any intention to raise prices in the United States.
