The wait is over: Samsung rolls out stable One UI 9 for Galaxy S26 series

Google has recently introduced Motion Assist to Pixel and Samsung phones running Android 17. This feature aims to reduce motion sickness when users are in a moving vehicle such as a car or bus. The onscreen bubble overlay adjusts to the device's motion for a smoother experience. To enable Motion Assist, users can search for "motion assist" in the Settings app or open the Quick Settings editor and scroll down to "From system apps" (on Pixel).

Alternatively, the long route is through the Settings app - Google - All services tab - Personal & device safety - Motion assist. Motion Assist is part of Google Play services and appears alongside Advanced Protection and Theft protection. Users can have Motion Assist automatically start when in a moving vehicle, but Google recommends adding a Quick Settings Tile for manual control from any screen.

Once active, there's also a silent system notification that allows users to disable the feature with a tap. On most phones, the feature displays two columns of shapes on the left and right edges. Motion Assist has been widely rolled out on all Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy (Fold 8 series) devices running Android 17. Users should restart their phone if it's not yet live. Google Play services version 26.33.32 is currently supporting this feature.
