Qatar Chamber, Malta discuss investment ties

Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba, the second vice chairman of the Qatar Chamber, met with Maltese Ambassador to Qatar, Maria Camilleri Calleja, on Monday to discuss enhancing economic and trade relations between the two nations. The meeting centered on identifying avenues to strengthen bilateral ties and explored potential areas of cooperation between Qatari and Maltese business owners.

Al-Athba expressed his appreciation for the robust relations between Qatar and Malta. He emphasized the Qatar Chamber's commitment to fostering collaboration between Qatari and Maltese companies across diverse economic sectors through strategic partnerships that bolster the economic growth of both countries. He further noted that the Qatari market is receptive to various investments and provides a range of incentives and facilities to attract foreign investment, thus improving the business environment.

Calleja shared that there is considerable interest among Maltese business owners and companies to explore investment opportunities in the Qatari market and foster cooperation with their Qatari counterparts. She suggested the possibility of organizing a business forum, bringing together business owners from both nations to explore prospects for cooperation and partnerships in sectors such as food, trade, services, pharmaceuticals, innovation, and other areas of mutual interest.
