Carr not only completed 16 out of 20 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns, but he also managed to do so within just one half of play and one series after halftime.

Backup Noah Grubbs stepped in for the rest of the game after Carr's stellar performance. Carr's control over the offense was evident, as Notre Dame outgained Rice with a significant margin of 478-128, while also forcing five fumbles. The Irish went on to secure their first shutout since 2022, beginning with a 42-0 halftime lead.
