North Korea says its recent live-fire drill demonstrated ‘huge destructive power’

North Korea conducted a joint live-fire drill on Saturday, involving missiles, artillery and drones, that it claimed to demonstrate "the huge destructive power of concentration fire." The official Korean Central News Agency reported that the drill aimed to familiarize personnel with the operation of the integrated firepower control system.

South Korea's military detected short-range ballistic missile launches originating from North Korea's eastern coastal Wonsan area. Marshal Pak Jong Chon stated that the drill would enhance the level of specialization to neutralize the enemy's armed forces organizationally and structurally upon an order. The flight distances of the weapons, which flew about 250 kilometers each, indicate their capability to strike targets in South Korea. This marks North Korea's first public ballistic missile launches in approximately three weeks.
