New Round Of Peace Talks Could Take Place In Early October — Budanov

Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Office of the President, has indicated that trilateral peace talks might occur in early October of this year. This statement was made during the annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting in Kyiv, as reported by UATV English.

At the YES gathering, Budanov engaged in discussions with national security advisers from Germany, France, Italy, and the UK. He also held a separate meeting with the British side to align on a shared stance and deliberate on significant decisions. The President of the Office of the President voiced confidence that subsequent peace talks on Ukraine could take place in early October, with a focus on gradually decreasing air strikes.

Budanov underscored the importance of US and European participation in these talks. The primary concern, he emphasized, is Black Sea shipping, aiming to reduce strikes against civilian facilities, critical infrastructure, and similar targets. Russia is well aware of these objectives and is contemplating their approach. Budanov expressed patience, noting that it is crucial not to squander time and to work towards establishing a new security architecture in Europe, which should encompass Ukraine and its Armed Forces, as stressed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy has mentioned plans to meet with US President Trump in September, following which they aim to organize a trilateral meeting involving Ukraine, the US, and Russia. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry confirmed a preliminary agreement for a personal meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the US in September.
