MoIAT launches Factory Forward UAE to accelerate industrial technology transformation

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) in the UAE has launched Factory Forward UAE, an initiative aimed at accelerating the transformation of industrial technology across the nation. This national platform unifies various industrial technology transformation programmes, reinforcing the UAE's position as a global leader in advanced industry and industrial investment.

The initiative targets manufacturers to adopt Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, fostering quicker response to market changes, heightened efficiency and productivity, improved competitiveness, and growth in high-value national industries. Factory Forward UAE provides support throughout a manufacturer's technology transformation journey, starting from identifying technology needs and assessing improvement opportunities, to implementing suitable 4IR solutions.

It also connects manufacturers with technical experts, technology providers, enablement programs, and financing partners. The program showcases successful industrial technology transformations, offering manufacturers real-world examples and insights to identify suitable solutions and improve operational performance.

Over 700 UAE factories, including more than 620 assessed through the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI), have already benefited from the initiative. By integrating technology programmes and support into a single ecosystem, Factory Forward UAE will guide manufacturers at every stage of their technology transformation, enhancing competitiveness in local and international markets, strengthening supply chains, and contributing to the continued growth and resilience of the UAE's industrial sector.

Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, emphasized that Factory Forward UAE aligns with the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and the Make it in the Emirates initiative. The ministry will continue to collaborate with partners to further this progress, focusing on helping factories adopt advanced technologies like artificial intelligence to boost productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness.
