MCIT organizes second edition of Executive Leadership Program in Artificial Intelligence

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in partnership with Microsoft and Qatar Digital Academy, is hosting the second edition of the Executive Leadership Program in Artificial Intelligence from September 14-16, 2026. The program will convene 24 government leaders at INSEAD's Europe Campus in Fontainebleau, France.

MCIT's Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs, Reem Al Mansoori, emphasized that the success of AI adoption relies not only on technology but also on leaders who can comprehend its potential, set priorities, make sound decisions, and guide teams in its responsible use. This underscores the program's significance in equipping government leaders with new insights and experiences to leverage AI effectively.

Al Mansoori highlighted that enhancing government leaders' capabilities is crucial for translating AI's potential into practical applications and solutions tailored to the needs and priorities of government entities, thereby improving efficiency, service delivery, and decision-making.

The program focuses on transitioning leaders from a basic understanding of AI to strategically assessing its opportunities, pinpointing priority application areas, and constructing an institutional case for implementation. It also deepens their knowledge of implementation requirements, data management, governance, risk management, and organizational change.

Through case studies and peer-to-peer learning, leaders gain access to global expertise and exchange experiences with counterparts from various entities and sectors, enabling them to adapt the knowledge and tools to their specific institutional contexts.

Ahmad El Dandachi, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, stating that the program equips government leaders with the frameworks and tools necessary to identify, evaluate, and implement AI opportunities in a responsible and sustainable manner.

The second annual edition of the program builds upon the success of its predecessor, continuing MCIT's commitment to developing government leaders and integrating global expertise with the specific needs and priorities of Qatar's government entities, in support of the Digital Agenda 2030.
