Mastodon to Tour with Baroness’ John Baizley in Their Lineup

Mastodon has announced that Baroness frontman John Baizley will join their touring lineup for their upcoming North American tour, which begins on September 16th. The decision came after Baizley performed with the band for six songs during a secret warmup show at The Earl in Atlanta on Friday night. The setlist included tracks such as "Curl of the Burl," "Sultan's Curse," "Colony of Birchmen," and "Blood and Thunder."

After the performance, Mastodon expressed their excitement about inviting Baizley to join them on stage during their "Poisonous Weapons Tour" to play a special set of songs they have not played in a while. The North American tour will support their new album, Marrow Deep, the band's first release since the departure and passing of guitarist Brent Hinds.

The tour lineup will consist of Mastodon's founding members Troy Sanders, Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher, guitarist Nick Johnston, and keyboardist João Nogueira, with Baizley joining for select songs.
