LP disowns Arabambi over Obi credential case

The Labour Party has withdrawn its support for Abayomi Arabambi, who sued National Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi for access to his academic and service records. Arabambi was removed from the party in March due to alleged anti-party activities, and his suspension was confirmed by the party's National Convention on April 28, 2026.

The party clarified that Arabambi is no longer a member, and urged the public not to accept any representation by him as an LP official. Arabambi filed three lawsuits against WAEC, UNN, and the NYSC under the Freedom of Information Act, seeking records related to certificates issued to Obi. The NDC defended Obi's credentials and dismissed the lawsuits, stating that Obi has a verifiable academic background.
