Long-running creative endeavour

The Paper Gallery, a Winnipeg gift shop, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Owned by Julie Pedersen Ross and her husband Andrew Ross, the store has been a beloved community hub since opening in 1976. With over 2,000 greeting cards, stationery, and gifts, the Paper Gallery offers a unique shopping experience that sets it apart from online retailers.

Pedersen Ross, a former designer, purchased the business from Itzik and Anne Joudan in 2017, intending to teach her teenage sons about entrepreneurship. This year marks a week-long celebration of the milestone, including gift bag giveaways and food. The store, now located in a 2,500-square-foot space, has maintained its loyal customer base, with many long-time patrons continuing to visit.
