Lamine Yamal double helps Barcelona beat Levante, Atletico triumph
Lamine Yamal’s brace leds Barcelona to a thrilling 4-2 victory over Levante, maintaining their perfect La Liga start and three-point lead over Real Madrid.
Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal scored twice to secure an exciting 4-2 victory over Levante, extending Barcelona's perfect start to the La Liga season. The win widened the gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of the table, which stood at three points following Real Madrid's win over Rayo Vallecano the previous day. Xavi Espart opened the scoring for Barcelona with a goal in the fifth minute, assisted by a slight deflection.
Yamal doubled Barcelona's lead early in the second half, converting a penalty after being fouled by Aissa Mandi. Despite taking a 2-1 lead, Barcelona's defensive vulnerabilities were exposed as Levante staged a comeback in the final stages. Substitute Karim Adeyemi sealed the win for Barcelona with a stunning solo goal in stoppage time, breaking through the Levante defense and beating goalkeeper Mathew Ryan.
Coach Hansi Flick cautioned his players to maintain their focus ahead of the next match, as Barcelona's impressive form could falter.
