Kyle Larson secured a victory in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, ending a 51-race winless streak. The Hendrick Motorsports driver triumphed over teammate Alex Bowman in overtime, with the margin of victory being just 0.333 seconds. This win marked the second race of the 2026 Chase and significantly reshaped the championship picture.

The afternoon at Gateway was characterized by chaos, featuring 18 cautions, 87 caution laps, and 11 lead changes. Drivers faced various challenges, including brake issues, crashes, and constant restarts. Larson managed the chaos better than anyone, leading 80 laps across three different stints. Joey Logano won the opening stage, followed by Larson in Stage 2.

Despite two overtime restarts, Larson ultimately secured the win. The victory was part of Hendrick Motorsports' 1-2 finish, with Logano taking third place. William Byron finished fourth, Ross Chastain fifth, Austin Dillon sixth, Connor Zilisch and Carson Hocevar seventh and eighth, respectively, while Denny Hamlin finished ninth, and Austin Cindric completed the top 10.
