Israeli strikes on Lebanon kills 13, including 6 children

In Lebanon, Israeli strikes on the southern town of Kfar Rumman resulted in at least 13 casualties, including six children, according to the country's health ministry. The strikes, which took place despite a June ceasefire, came without a prior evacuation warning from the Israeli military. The victims included three women and eight-year-old Mustafa Farhat, who lost his grandparents, mother, and father in the attack.

Rescue workers retrieved bodies from the rubble of the residential building, where children were preparing for school when the strike occurred. Israeli officials stated that the strikes aimed to target people transferring weapons in the area, while rescue workers suggested the targets were civilians. The strikes also resulted in the death of one medic and the wounding of two others.

Israeli forces claimed to have deployed precise munitions and aerial surveillance to minimize harm to civilians. The attacks followed Hezbollah's launch of two explosive drones towards Israeli troops near the Ali al-Taher ridge, where Israel reported the removal of Hezbollah fighters. Since the June ceasefire, Israeli strikes on towns near the ridge have claimed over 4,300 lives, including over 250 children.
